Welcome to Science Revision Courses
I have developed these courses to give parents and students an affordable option to access extra support in their A levels and GCSEs. Additionally, more and more students need a bit of extra support throughout their courses and there isn’t enough time in my day nor are there enough science specialists to help everyone. This will also work out cheaper in the long term and, of course, you can always join me on a workshop or for a 1-to-1 tutor session.
I have been teaching for over 30 years and tutoring students for over 10, so have years of experience behind me. More recently, I have moved my tutoring online and found that it works really well. In fact, several parents have said that it has been better! The problem is that I am limited to how many students I can support each week. Therefore, I have developed courses, where students can follow my sessions in their own time and at their own pace. Each video is short and mobile friendly, so can be watched at anytime, anywhere. The sessions are very similar to how I tutor, but they work out cheaper.
Why Science Revision Courses
In these courses, education and supported learning is the aim not just providing information. The objective is to provide clear explanations of what students need to know, so it is like being in a classroom or in a 1-2-1 tutorial with me. This is accomplished through: short videos, which talk through all the key points, emphasising what students need to know; quizzes to check knowledge; lesson outlines to download to aid self-learning and note-taking (both key skills) and walked through sample exam questions at the end of each section.
How is this different to other web-sites?
Sadly, I have found that most alternatives simply provide power point files with no explanation, revision notes, concept maps etc. Much of which is provided by examination boards for free or could be found from a good text book or revision guide.
